about

Recorded in the early '00s using software predating Pro Tools and a beer-stained four-track cassette machine, 'Grand Experiment' by RI-based quartet Stalemate was, in the words of one generous reviewer a few years after its release: “…a 14-track masterpiece by the ultimate, slip-shod high school band from your wildest low-fi dreams.“

A few from the carousel of a lineup who recorded this double-LP would go on to become Providence, RI math rock royalty. But yeah, let's go with that?

This 10th anniversary remaster is courtesy of the good folks at the SPACE Studios in Huntington, NY, and Salieri Records as part of their monthly legacy promo series.
